For iPhone and Mac

Your iPhone becomes your Mac's speaker.

Your Mac's sound plays on your iPhone, over your Wi-Fi. The sound never leaves your home, no account.

How it works

Three steps to start.

Hey!ko comes in two parts: Hey!ko on your iPhone, and Hey!ko Link, a small free app that lives in your Mac's menu bar.

1

Install Hey!ko Link

On your Mac. It picks up whatever your Mac plays — music, video, games, calls — and sends it to your iPhone.

2

Type the code

Open Hey!ko on your iPhone: a 4-digit code appears. Pick your iPhone in the Mac's list, and type that code.

3

Listen

Your Mac's sound comes out of your iPhone, or the headphones connected to it. Even when it's locked.

What it does

Made so you can forget it's there.

All of your Mac's sound

Not just one app: everything your Mac plays goes to the iPhone.

Only hear the iPhone

One switch mutes the Mac while it sends. It speaks again as soon as you stop.

Lock screen

The sound keeps playing with your iPhone in your pocket. A card on the lock screen mutes or stops everything without opening the app.

Video mode

For a video on the Mac, the iPhone keeps its screen on — black, using almost no power — and the sound keeps closer to the picture.

Encrypted link

The sound is encrypted between your two devices. Another device on the Wi-Fi can neither listen in nor pretend to be your iPhone.

The sound stays home

Your Wi-Fi is enough: no server, no account, and the sound never goes over the Internet. The sound goes straight from the Mac to the iPhone.

Honestly

Wi-Fi isn't a cable.

Sound takes about two tenths of a second to travel from the Mac to the iPhone. For music, a podcast or the radio, you won't hear it.

For a video, a slight gap between lips and voice can show. Video mode reduces it; with the iPhone locked, the gap is larger (about three tenths).

Privacy

Your sound never leaves your network.

Hey!ko has no account and no server, and the sound never goes over the Internet: it goes from your Mac to your iPhone, then it's gone. Only the optional purchase goes through Apple's App Store.

Price

Try it, then decide.

Hey!ko gives you enough to try it. If you keep it, you pay once, and that's it. Hey!ko Link, on the Mac, stays free.
